Who runs Quanto
Alexey Toropov runs Quanto and is responsible for your data. Write to [email protected] with any question about it.
What we keep and why
- Your game. A random player ID, your guesses and scores, your streak, your rounds and the challenge links you make. We need these to run the game for you.
- Your name, if you choose one. It appears on the leaderboard and on challenge links you send.
- Your email, only if you sign in. We use it to send sign-in links and to join your progress across devices. We send nothing else to it.
- Where you came from, such as the website or social network whose link you followed, and simple usage events such as opening the game, sharing or starting a round. They tell us which channels bring players and which parts of the game work. They are kept by us; there are no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
- Reports you send about a question, with the message you write.
- Your IP address is held in memory for up to an hour to stop abuse, such as too many requests at once. The game does not store it. Our hosting provider may keep it in server logs for a short time.
We rely on two legal grounds: running the service you asked for (your game, your name, your email) and our legitimate interest in keeping the game working and knowing what brings players (usage events, sources, abuse limits).
Cookies and storage
One cookie, q_sid, keeps your game linked to your browser. The browser's own storage remembers a challenge link you arrived through, whether you have played, and whether this visit was already counted. All of this is needed for the game to work, so there is no cookie banner. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Who else handles data
Our hosting and database provider stores the data, our network provider carries it, and an email delivery service sends sign-in links. They act only on our instructions. Some of them are in the United States; those transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We do not sell data and do not share it with advertisers.
What other players see
Your name and points on the leaderboard, and your name and score on a challenge link you send. Nothing else about you is public.
How long we keep it
- If you never sign in, your game is deleted after 24 months without a visit.
- If you sign in, your game and email stay until you delete them.
- Usage events are deleted after 24 months.
- Sign-in links stop working after 30 minutes and are deleted within a day.
Your rights
You can see, correct, export or delete your data, and object to how we use it. To delete everything at once, open your page and choose Delete my data. For anything else write to [email protected]; we answer within 30 days. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one in the country where you live.
Children
Quanto is not meant for children under 13. If you are under 16, play without signing in.
Changes
